Why this leaks on Vercel Node The fork at httpServerIntegration.js:110 only fires if the request actually arrives via Node's http.Server.prototype.emit('request', …) and the route handler runs inside the AsyncLocalStorage context the integration set up. There are several real ways that's broken on Vercel: a. setUser called outside any request context. Any Sentry.setUser(...) call in sentry.server.config.ts, instrumentation.ts, top-level module code, or a startup hook (e.g. your syncStripeProducts block in instrumentation.ts:18-26) mutates the global isolation scope. Subsequent per-request forks are clones of that global, so the user persists into every request until process death. This is the #1 cause of the symptom you're describing. b. setUser from work that escapes the request's async context. setImmediate, unawaited promises, unstable_after, waitUntil, raw event-emitter callbacks, libraries that use Worker threads or that drop async context — any of these can run after withIsolationScope's callback returns. Once the async context is the parent (pre-fork), getIsolationScope() returns the global. If that escaped code calls setUser/setTag, it permanently dirties the global. The next clean request inherits it.
